G-KEN 舞踊団 (BUYODAN) at Don Hill’s

Myu and Rena at Tsubasa Presents “Stairway to the Dream” Stage 7

May 30, 2010
Don Hill’s 511 Greenwich St. New York, NY

My friend, Myu always put up a awesome performance! すごい!!! This time with her new partner, Rena at Don’s Hill. It was more a upbeat,  jazz dance with a funny comical taste than her usual Contemporary Jazz dance with her other Partner Yu. I think it was the best performance of the night. Everyone else was more Hardcore JRock and another comedy skit that was funny as well.

Utada Hikaru concert at Filmore NYC

I was so excited to go finally go to Utada Hikaru’s concert! Utada is one of my favorite music artist. She was born in NY  and considered to be  the Diva of Japan, but really shes just a down to earth dorky girl with talent. I bought my ticket the first week online when they were announced. The line was like 4 streets long around the block and it took an hour just to get in. I went alone but I got to talked to other Utada fans. They were from Tokyo, Japan and is going to school at NYU. Not many Japanese but a lot of Asians.

I heard she was feeling sick that week but that did not stop her from doing a awesome performance! Her songs were way better to hear live than from the CDs! She sang songs in both English and Japanese, some song were remixed, which was what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, security was tight and my camera got confiscated, therefore I only manage to get what I could with my sucky blackberry. Overall the concert was satisfying but the venue is too small, stage wasn’t high enough to see over the heads of tall people, and was too crowded. I was glad to be in the back, I need my dance space…. lol!

Woot finally migrated from B2Evo to Word Press

After a very long time of not blogging, I decided to switch for a change. I been messing with Word Press at work and became more familiar with it. Its a lot easier to customize and the code base is more organize. Hopefully I continue to write once in a while. :)

Metal Gear Solid 4: Card Board boxing to Autograph Signing

MGS4-UNIQLO

Thursday will be the big day for the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, PS3/MGS4 bundle from Sony and legendary game designer of Metal Gear series, Hideo Kojima and voice actress, Yumi Kikuchi autograph signing at NY.

The awaited anticipation of the demanding MGS4 is almost over, fans have been waiting over 4 years since the release of MGS3 on the PS2. The game is suppose to be the finally conclusion to the Metal Gear saga. Every questions and doubts you had, will be answer. This is the reason to get the PS3 since it was the pricing and lack of quality games that drove many gamers away from purchasing one since the release of the system.

This Thursday will be hectic at the autograph signing. Hideo Kojima and Yumi Kikuch will only be there from 5pm – 7pm at UNIQLO Soho NY, estimated about 300 lucky fans will get autographs. I started to gather up all my MGS merchandise but apparently I don’t have much. I was able to find the original MGS PS1 soundtrack, MGS Portable Ops on the PSP, and the MGS4 art book. I feel so nerdy. The other conflict is that I usually work until 7pm. Looks like I’ll have to stealth out of work early in a cardboard box with the Fed Ex shipment in order to hopefully make it on time.

This morning I stoped by UNIQLO to see what this store is all about. It was a clothing store with a big Manga character on the store front. No they don’t sell anime and manga goodies here. Just some screen printed T-Shirts with manga and video game characters. I went inside to see if they had the MGS4 shirts on sale. Unfortunely I didn’t see any, I guess they will be on sale on Thursday.

Well if I can’t get an autograph, I should be able get the limited edition MGS4 shirt from UNIQLO and play some MGS4 this week. YATTA!

Pratt Institute Gymnasium
Saturday March 29th 2008
12pm – 2pm

Its been a while since I went to Brooklyn on the G train. Its the worst train ever. It took about 20 mins for it to come. Any ways when I got there, the office of international affairs staff were all surprised to see me. Its been about 2 years since I last visited them. It was great, food was tastily and delicious.
